About us.
Hannah had a dream. Locate, buy and restore an old ice cream van. Sounds simple doesn’t it!? Well it wasn’t, but thanks to a lot of time, effort, heartache and support from family and friends we did it and ‘Beryl the Bedford’, a 1970’s vintage Whitby Morrison ice cream van was reborn. Found off the road, but in original condition, Beryl (previously known as ‘Hokey Pokey’) had last seen action serving the customers of Duckpool beach near Bude.
We didn’t stop there. A couple of years later, ‘Vera’, a 1970’s vintage Vanmaster caravan was spotted sitting on a driveway in Hull. After an epic weekend traversing the country with kids and caravan and tow, we embarked on project number two. Three years later ‘Vera the Vanmaster’ was armed and ready to serve delicious coffee, cakes, smoothies & shakes alongside our established ice cream offering.
Elsie is number three. She is a Classic No. 33 ice cream trike made by Pashley, England’s longest established bicycle manufacturer. As Vera and Beryl’s little sister, she is still ably equipped to serve the best Cornish ice cream to up to 150 customers and is a firm favourite at weddings around Cornwall.
